Being Able 2 Move Heaven and Earth 4 Haiti / BAM’s mission is to create a vehicle for long term relief in rebuilding Haiti, such as supporting medical teams and supplies–food, water, books, clothes, shelter–to the Haitian community. Who better to rebuild than those of this great country, the great people who live in Haiti and have family there. BAM prides itself on letting the community of Haiti dictate the outcome of our long term plan for rebuilding aid.
Who we are
We are a group of people with medical and community support as well as disaster relief experience. BAM members are former Common Ground Relief organizers, a group that was formed in respnse to the destruction left by Hurricane Katrina. So far, in just 4 weeks, BAM and associates have been able to send 4 medical teams to four different areas in Haiti: Petionville, PAP, Jacmel, and St Marc. We’ve been able to deliver 3,000 pounds of medical supplies. BAM has set up a partnership with a orphanage outside of PAP–we have the land and will that that project after the 15 of March 2010. BAM also has team of civil engineers that will help with the rebuilding process. Our organization also features black doctors who will deal with mental disorders–this is really needed in a time of such great despair.
BAM is setting itself up to be a lifelong friend and family of the Haitian community. BAM in practice will be inclusive to all nations, but anything that will concern the destiny of Haitian in this group will be lead by you, the Haitian people. BAM is still looking for medical teams, supplies, food, water, clothes and finacial support to support our different long term projects in Haiti. All money and donations are a tax deductible, provided by our 501c3 sponsor in New York.
